Hello there! 👋
I’m Raphaël Jauslin, a methodological statistics specialist at the Swiss Federal Statistical Office. I design and implement advanced statistical methods and develop programs for data analysis and visualization. With extensive experience in R, SAS, and Python — and leveraging C++ to optimize performance — I focus on delivering efficient, scalable solutions that balance computational cost and precision.
Academic Background
I earned my Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Neuchâtel and completed my MSc in Applied Mathematics at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. These academic milestones have not only deepened my analytical expertise but also fueled my passion for research and innovation.
Research & Contributions
My research primarily centers on sampling theory, especially for spatial populations, along with developing methods for creating balanced samples in highly stratified settings. This work has materialized in two R packages: WaveSampling and StratifiedSampling. For detailed examples of their application, please check out my recent posts. You can also download the latest versions directly from my GitHub page.
Beyond the Numbers
Outside the realm of statistics, I enjoy staying active and connecting with nature. Whether it’s running along scenic mountain trails or windfoiling on Neuchâtel’s lake 🏄♂️.
